What the city is missing:Thierry Cohen photographs cityscapes and then photographs deserts at night, combing the two to show us what our cities would look like with the lights off. The stars are not enhanced, they are actual photos from relative latitudes that would expose the same starry sky view if it weren’t for light pollution. Click on each photo to see which city it is.
Light pollution and pollution in general
We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.
posting without a source is unfortunately pretty common, but it doesn’t have to be. with a few minutes of hunting, you can make sure the artists you like get credit for their work! :) hope this is helpful.
It’s not hard folks.
-Do not erase the source from posts
-Don’t post anything you don’t know the source of
-Don’t reblog art that does not have a proper source linked to it
-If you must post sourceless art, please be generous and hunt for it’s source.
It was announced last month. I don’t know how many already forgotten about it. I don’t know how many didn’t even know about it.
I understand creatures do extincted and our planet will still keep on rotating. However, I just know, I really want to ask that question when i read the news “Do we really need more?” That is not only for the slaughters from hunters and poachers.
It is for acknowledging the fact that everything we do, everything we buy, everything we eat, do impact this planet. Especially as our populations keep increasing, every trend happens in our society, every decisions made by our society will directly involves with everything that exist on this planet.
We are only human, one of many creatures on this planet. Yet, we can build rocket that will reach the moon. We can build a dam that provides energy for millions.
When can we acknowledge that our actions are affecting more than what we see in front of us?
